ORANGE BEACH, ALA. - Bags will be flying across the state line as the Lower Alabama Young Professionals (LAYP) host the 4th Annual Barks, Bags, & Bushwackers, a cornhole tournament and social, at the Flora-Bama Yacht Club on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The LAYP group focuses on three pillars (connect, engage, and develop) which support the overall mission of the organization. A portion of proceeds from Barks, Bags, & Bushwackers will benefit Service Dogs Alabama.
Founded in 2015, Service Dogs Alabama is dedicated to providing medical and psychiatric service dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities. Last year’s event raised $1,000 for Service Dogs Alabama.
“Philanthropy is at the heart of what we do,” said Cory Skipper, chairman of the LAYP group. “We love being able to engage people in the community by combining fun and outreach through our partnerships.”
The event is open to all aged 21 and up. Attendees have two ways to get involved in the event:
● Tournament Play: For $40, a team of two can enter in the organized tournament for a chance at cash and prizes.
● Casual Play: For $15, individuals can come out to take part in casual play & networking.
All attendees will receive a ticket for a free Bushwacker. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the event’s page at mygulfcoastchamber.com. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Lower Alabama Young Professionals organization is a partnership between the Coastal Alabama and South Baldwin Chambers of Commerce, serving Foley, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach.
The group targets the 21 to 40 professional age range and brings a fresh new outlook for leadership in our community. Their commitment is to provide community connections, education, philanthropy, and opportunities for outreach.
