Coastal Ala. - After months of preparation, area students are ready to open their businesses to the general public on Saturday, May 10 for the 2nd Annual Coastal Alabama Kid Entrepreneurs (C.A.K.E) Day.

The program, organized by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, has taught elementary-aged students the basics of entrepreneurship through workshops, covering topics like branding, marketing, finance, and stand building.

Thanks to proclamations given by Mayors Tony Kennon & Robert Craft, students will be able to put their skills and creativity to the test by opening their businesses for one day.

“The creativity these students have shown towards the program is incredible,” said Ale Lewis, Education and Programs Coordinator for the Chamber. “Many have gone the extra mile by designing logos, starting websites, and submitting full business plans.”

The Coastal Alabama community is encouraged to support these young entrepreneurs on May 10, a full list of stands and locations is available at mygulfcoastchamber.com/cakeday.

C.A.K.E. Day is made possible through sponsors Columbia Southern University, Gulf Coast Rental Co, OWA, Riviera Utilities, & Volkert.
