Chamber Announces 2nd Annual Holly Days on Main Festival at The Wharf

Orange Beach, Ala. - It’s never too early to start planning for Christmas! The newest Gulf Coast mid-December tradition, the Holly Days on Main Festival, is returning to The Wharf in Orange Beach. After a successful turnout in 2020, the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is excited to announce the second edition of the event happening December 11th and 12th.

"With more people choosing to visit our area in the month of December, we have taken our Christmas market concept and turned it into an entire Christmas festival. Through the chamber's partnership with The Wharf and the City of Orange Beach, we are all excited to support our local businesses, vendors, and community during the holiday season," said Greg Alexander, President & CEO of the Chamber. “There are a number of aspects to the festival, thus offering a great experience for folks of all ages. We had a fantastic time with it last year, and our staff is eager to continue this new tradition."

As planning continues for the event, a number of activities are already scheduled for the weekend. This includes retail vendors lining up and down Main Street, specials offered by tenants at The Wharf, a student art display, live performances from area students and local musicians, a pass-by from the Annual Coastal Alabama Lighted Boat Parade, and a Santa themed pub crawl of Wharf bars and restaurants hosted by the Lower Alabama Young Professionals.

New to 2021 will be the opportunity for attendees to scan a QR code with their mobile device, leading to an online event hub. This new hub will feature a schedule of events occurring each day, a list of vendors, photos and videos taken at the event, and other general information. Vendor hours have also been expanded, running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

"We took in a lot of feedback from vendors at last year's event; we know what to keep and we know what to change,” said Steve Jones, Vice President of Special Events & Community Relations for the Chamber. “We're excited to incorporate what made last year a success, and to bring in some new factors that will drum up some new interest."
