ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – The busy tourism season is upon us, and this doesn’t only apply to the beach areas in Baldwin County. The housing market is swinging up for the summer and it seems to only be getting busier for Realtors, home buyers and sellers.
Baldwin Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reports the total amount of residential active inventory in April 2019 was 3,148. A total of 715 properties were sold last month, which is a decrease of 7.6% from April 2018 (774). For the first time in more than a year, properties are staying on the market for a longer period than the previous month—but not by much. Properties are staying on the market for approximately 88 days in 2019, a 3.5% increase from last year (85 days). April total sales volume decreased 5.2% this year, $209,628,636 from $221,183,361 in April 2018.
The average sales prices of residential properties in Baldwin County in April 2019 increase 4.2 % from 2018. In 2018, the average sales price was $281,369, and in 2019, it was $293,186.
