Deadline to apply is April 14 for Vendors & Artists and March 31 for entertainment acts.

GULF SHORES, ALA. - Preparations for the 50th edition of the Annual National Shrimp Festival are in full swing as the event is seeking new applications from vendors, artists, and entertainment acts for the first time in three years.

After a two year hiatus, the festival returned to record crowds in Oct. of 2022, consisting of applicants that had originally applied for the canceled 2020 festival. New to 2023 is a chance for vendors to submit their applications electronically via the online program Eventeny.

“The process has been open for a little over a month now and we’ve been thrilled with the response so far,” notes Steve Jones, VP of Special Events for the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, “When we first opened applications I had about fifteen sitting in my inbox within the first hour and they’ve only grown from there.”

Plans for the milestone 50th Festival, scheduled for Oct. 12 through 15 in Gulf Shores, include: the introduction of new national sponsors with on-site activations to enhance attendee experience, a special edition poster designed by a past poster contest winning artist, and an online video series coming this summer featuring stories & memories told by residents, committee members, & past festival chairmen.

Along with all the new additions for the 50th, attendees can still expect a great showcase of food, music, and art that has been at the heart of the festival since its inception in 1971.

Interested vendors, artists, and entertainment acts can apply for the festival and read further details at myshrimpfest.com/23applications.
