Job Description
The Gulf State Park is accepting applications for Full Time Security Officers. The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling ALL State Park property including trails, beaches and facilities to ensure a safe environment for guest and employees. This position acts as an ambassador of the park by answering calls for service in a professional manner and monitors park property for concerns of safety, suspicious activity and violations of State Laws & Regulations. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Patrol the Gulf State Park Facilities to include roads, trails, beaches, parking lots at regular intervals
• Watch for / report suspicious activity and take appropriate actions as needed
• Respond to guest or staff accidents/injuries/complaints and when necessary, complete appropriate report to document the incident
• Respond to motor vehicle accidents to aid First Responders with the security of the scene.
• Lock gates and check window/doors after facilities close
• Exhibit a strong physical and authoritative presence that will help deter criminal activity
• Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner
• May be asked to remove/relocate certain species of wildlife
• Sound alarms or call for outside assistance when needed in emergencies
• Follow all state and park-enforced safety laws and regulations
• Miscellaneous duties as needed and directed by the District Ranger

Requirements and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Basic computer skills with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Pass state background check and drug test
• Valid Alabama Driver’s License
• Flexible schedule (including nights, weekends and holidays)
• Able to lift up to 50lbs • Ability to operate 4x4 Truck, ATV & UTV
• Willing to adhere to Uniform and Grooming policy

This is a full-time (40 hours) position that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.
