SH Enterprises, Inc. family of companies including Meyer Vacation Rentals, Meyer
Services and Starr Textiles will be hosting job fairs on Wednesday, February 13 and
Thurs, Feb 14 between the hours of 1pm and 5pm. On Wednesday (February 13) the job
fair will take place at Meyer Services located at 509 East Section Avenue in the Foley
Industrial Park. The Thursday (Feb 14) job fair will be held at Meyer’s Gulf Shores’
office at 1585 Gulf Shores Parkway.
Job seekers attending the Wednesday job fair in Foley will have opportunities to apply
for immediate openings at Meyer Services and Starr Textiles. Meyer Services job
openings include Housekeeping Service Coordinators and Journeyman Plumber. Loretta
Ison, Senior Housekeeping Services Manager stated, “We have immediate openings for
Housekeeping Service Coordinators and will be hiring as many as 9 qualified candidates.
These Coordinators are very important to the success of our International College Student
J1 Program. Coordinators will be responsible for training, mentoring, transporting
and assisting these students with housekeeping duties in our vacation rental properties.
These students come from several different countries and some are visiting the United
States for the first time. These positions can be physically demanding but the benefits of
getting to know these international students and their varied cultures are a true reward.
Previous supervisory is preferred and suitable background and driving records required.”
Applications will also be accepted for housekeepers and quality assurance inspectors.
Hiring for these positions will take place in Spring 2013.
Chase Lamb is the Production Manager for Starr Textile Services in Foley. Starr has
several openings on the production floor including Laundry Production Supervisor, Scale
Operator and Garment Processor. Lamb states “Most people in our area don’t realize
that we have a state-of-the-art commercial laundry facility right here in Foley. We have
over 65 people currently on payroll and operate 7 days a week.” Starr Textiles Services
opened its doors in 2008 and occupies a 30,000 square foot facility on North Poplar
Street in the Foley Industrial Park. Lamb said; “The Laundry Production Supervisor is
responsible for monitoring quality, meeting production deadlines and assigning staff
to work stations. We are looking for applicants with previous production supervisory
experience.”
On Thursday, Feb 14 Meyer will host a job fair at their office on Hwy 59 (Gulf Shores
Parkway) in Gulf Shores. Job seekers will have opportunities to apply for full time
positions in Owner Relations and Corporate Accounting. Michelle Nelson, COO of
Meyer Vacation Rentals said; “We invite applicants to come in and learn more about
the employment opportunities we have available. We have immediate openings for
Property Directors in Owner Relations. Property Directors act as a liaison between
our property owners and Meyer’s internal departments to ensure star treatment in all
aspects of vacation rental management. Previous property management or vacation rental
management is desired.” Nelson also noted; “We are ramping up for a great spring and
summer season along the Gulf Coast and with the season comes a need for additional
staffing at our front desk and reservation call center. We will be accepting applications
for seasonal positions within our Guest Relations and Guest Sales Department.”
The Corporate Accounting Department will be accepting applications for a Staff
Accountant. Linda McGonigal, Senior Accounting Manager stated; “Qualifications for
this position includes a minimum of 3 years general accounting experience including
AR, AP, Payroll, GL and month end financials. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is
preferred with proficiency in Excel 2007.”
