Event Description:
1:30 p.m. Ribbon Cutting and grand opening for the Clay Studio and grounds at the Coastal Art Center in Orange Beach.
The Clay Studio features demonstrations and instruction by Resident Ceramics Artist Abby Leach. The studio holds a wealth of opportunities for would-be potters, offering wheel-throwing, hand-building, trimming and glazing classes. The public may also “Pick and Paint,” that is, to pick an item the artist has already created then choose from 30 color options and paint the piece as desired.
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a sunset grand-opening reception. The event is free and features live music by Sims Family Music; refreshments will be provided by Compleat Angler Seafood Grille and Bar.
The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach is located at 26389 Canal Road.
