The Baldwin County Sales and Use Tax Department will host its free quarterly taxpayer workshop on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the Baldwin County Central Annex Auditorium.
 
Who Should Attend?
Any business or individtula that deals with or needs information about Sales Tax, Seller’s Use Tax, Consumer Use Tax, Rental/Lease Tax, Business License Issues or Personal Property Issues related to Businessess.
 
The workshop will present information on the following topics:
  • Explain who is subject to AL/Baldwin County business licenses.
  • Explain when a business license is due.
  • The various tax types and how they are applied depending upon the nature of the business activity.
  • Clarify who is subject to register and obtain a tax account with Baldwin County.
  • Explain what exemptins may or may not be available on various slaes transactions.
  • Provide instruction on how a taxpayer may use the electroni filing website.
  • Explain when a tax return is due.
  • Explain how tax discounts are calculated and on what type of tax it applies.
  • Explain what penalties may apply to delinquent tax returns.
An open floor question and discussion session with the taxpayers will conclude the workshop.
