Event Description:
On Monday, February 20, Main Street at The Wharf will come alive with the Pleasure Island Mardi Gras Festival. This event will begin at 10am and run till 10pm or longer, depending on which Krewe you party with! This will be a full day of fun- filled activities for the entire family!
Admission is FREE, parking is FREE, all that is required is the desire to kick back and enjoy a good time. Families will enjoy free face painting, street entertainers, fire breathers, clowns, giant slide, and bounce house.
Next enjoy not one, but two parades. The first beginning at 2pm, with a brand new Kid and Pet parade. This new event will allow you to throw beads and miniature stuffed animals to the kids as they walk down Main Street. The music starts right after this parade with Wes Baylis on stage from 3pm to 5pm.
At 5pm the sun goes down and the lights go up as The Wharf Mardi Gras Parade begins! Bands, Go Carts, Floats, plenty of Beads, and all of your favorite Krewes will be showing off some of the best floats in the area.
The fun does not stop there, as the floats make their way up and down Main Street and then stop, giving Revelers a never before chance to take pictures with the Krewes and their floats.
At 6pm the cool sounds of the Knee Deep band will take center stage for the rest of the evening… So mark your calendars to join us for an event you are sure to remember!
