Event Description:
Several women-owned retailers at The Wharf have joined together to celebrate Pink Friday, a national event designed to support small businesses, taking place on Friday, November 22. Seaside Shoes and Swim is one of the merchants involved and is excited to participate. “We usually focus on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, but by then, so many shoppers have already spent their limit. We hope our customers will support their local, small businesses FIRST, before they log-on or visit stores that aren’t a part of the fabric of their community. We have so many unique products and personal service that boutiques like ours bring to the retail scene. We enjoy serving our customers and are thrilled to celebrate this event with them.”
Pink Friday, held the Friday before Black Friday, encourages shoppers to shop local and support small businesses ahead of the traditional holiday rush. “Our group of retailers are proud to take part in this initiative. We are proud of our Local Economic Impact and are so thankful to be able to support and serve our community. At this time of year, we hope our customers will see the worth of local retail and join us in Shopping Small First!”
Local Economic Impact is defined as the economic effect of a business’s activities in their specific town or region. It includes the creation of jobs, generation of income through rents and expenses, increase in tax revenues which support schools and infrastructure, donations, sponsorships, and the boost to other local businesses through spending. Some research supports that $1 spent locally with a small business will turn 6 or 7 times in that same community.
Participating shops at The Wharf include Lucca, Crew (Kids/Baby/Tween), High Cotton Bath Company, Maho Shades, The Party Hause, Brand - Living & Giving, Seaside Shoes & SWIM, The Party House.
Visit these retailers on Pink Friday, November 22, for special offers and to join together in Shopping Small First.
