City of Gulf Shores meeting- May 6th, 6:00 pm Meyer Civic Center
Ocean Camp Director, Belinda Ringpfeil, will speak on two environmental issues at this meeting.
"Our beaches are sprinkled with plastics which eventually blow into the Gulf. It's very easy to lessen this problem. We have formed a volunteer group to pick up empty plastics and deliver to the recycling drop off at City and Coastal Alabama Business Chamber events. The need for appropriate containers to collect plastics will be needed. OC will maintain the containers with appropriate signage, during the events & see that the containers are stored properly. It is my understanding Boy Scouts maintain aluminum recycling.
Better than using plastic water bottles, we will also assist with water refill stations, as a better choice, plus either sell water bottles or ask others to bring their own. Please come to the meeting 6:00 Tuesday, May 6th to show your support".
