Event Description:

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s Manatee Sighting Network (MSN) announces its first annual safe manatee viewing and volunteer seminar taking place on Saturday, September 28th at 10am at 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center.

The goal of this event is to educate local residents about the presence of manatees in Alabama and surrounding waters and how they can safely observe these animals.

DISL’s MSN will also discuss ways that members of the public can become a part of the sighting network.  Volunteer opportunities include participating in outreach events, responding to manatee sightings, and potentially assisting the MSN team with field assessments. Reservations are strongly suggested, as space is limited - please call 251-861-2141 x7547 or email manatee@disl.org.
