Event Description:
As we prepare for Thanksgiving, do you ever wonder what the “first” Thanksgiving was really like? This  lecture will focus the history of colonial America and the challenges the early colonies presented to England.  Dr. Hamilton will also discuss some of the myths we still believe about these settlements, such as our ideas about the first Thanksgiving, and what the reality was.

Dr. Marsha Hamilton is Associate Professor of History at the University of South Alabama, with a specialization in colonial America.
