Bring in the New Year with a Polar Bear Dip at Gulf Shores Public Beach on
New Year's Day 2013. Participants are encouraged to come in costume and
celebrate the new year with a high noon plunge in the Gulf of Mexico
directly in front of The Hangout, at the south end of Hwy. 59 in Gulf
Shores. The pre and post dip party at the Hangout will include live music
and a Slip-n Slide for kids young and old. Prizes will be awarded for the
best costumes, and a special cash award will be presented to the "loudest"
Snowbird Club.
The party and Dip are free. A $15 event T-shirt purchase
(while supplies last) includes a post dip breakfast buffet at The Hangout.
T-shirts will be available before the run (while supplies last) at The
Hangout or at www.gulfshoreskiwanis.org. The Dip is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Gulf Shores, with cooperation from the City of Gulf Shores and The Hangout.
