Name: Frank Brown Songwriters Festival, a 501c3 Foundation Fundraiser- Covid Friendly Outdoor Event
Date: October 3, 2021
Time: 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Grammy nominated hit songwriter Jim McCormick anchors an afternoon of culinary delights and musical journeys. Local acclaimed chefs bring their artistic talents to the table as the songwriters will too.

Music Show
Jim McCormick recently experienced his third #1 charted song. All three of the artists that covered his #1 hits perform at the wharf amphitheater this year. “The Good Ones” was recently nominated for CMA song of the year.
Jim participated in the inaugural FBISF Songwriters in Schools’ program 20 years ago; more so as a scholar than a hit writer.
That has evolved into annual showcase sponsored by the city of Gulf Shores, and LuLu's.

Dave Latiolais
Texas native, Bear Creek resident Dave Latiolais opens the main show. He honed his singer/songwriter craft while touring with his band in the Texas Dancehall circuit, eventually moving to Nashville to write music, where he still considers to be his songwriting home. BTW, Jim isn’t the only member of the #1 club.

Lagniappe Lute Warm-Up:
Warm-up performance comes from Mark Bagley, who after studying classical guitar for 20 years discovered the Renaissance Lute. This instrument was influential in establishing the songwriting art. Never before was mankind able to document chords and notes. With a melody, add a few words or poem; you have a songwriter. Shortly after it became popular in all of the king & queen courts, Beethoven etc appeared.
Jukebox:
During the 3-5pm oyster show, local musician/songwriters will provide background live~jukebox songs from the 1993 festival. note: this coincides with festival's film introductory timeline….
Possible Film airing during event, TBA
