Please join us for discussion of Gulf restoration and recovery following the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster. Speakers will provide overviews of and updates on the primary ongoing restoration processes and issues, including:
Addressing the challenges of Gulf recovery
A review of some of the major challenges to Gulf restoration, including a lack of baseline data, the need to assess ecosystem-wide injuries, working with uncertainty, and coordinating restoration efforts
RESTORE Act and Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA)
Updates on the current status of RESTORE Act implementation and the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and an overview of what will come next
Opportunities for public participation
An overview of how the public can participate in the restoration and recovery processes, including in the NRDA and in Alabama’s RESTORE Act processes
