FOR AMERICA'S WARRIORS 5K & ½ MARATHON
SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH
In a special salute to America's fallen heroes, Flora-Bama, Perdido Key's iconic 50 year old roadhouse, is gearing up for their 2nd Annual Beach Run/Walk for America’s Warriors 5K & ½ Marathon on Saturday, March 28th. Flora-Bama is donating 100% of all registration fees to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation! This year’s race sponsor Alabama Credit Union in Pensacola.
The 1/2 marathon (13.1 mile) run along with shorter 5K (3.1mile) run/walk on the white sands of Perdido Key & Orange Beach is the unique project of Flora-Bama partner and General Manager, Cameron Price. Price is both a West Point graduate and former Army Ranger. It is dedicated to his fellow graduates and the special operations personnel from all services who lost their lives or were grievously wounded in the line of duty. Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures financial aide and counseling to families of these fallen heroes along with full scholarship grants to their children. Last year the Flora-Bama proudly donated $6,230 from their inaugural event. This year, we are excited to have one of Special Operations Warrior Foundation’s local recipients present at the event and honor her father who passed away putting his life on the line for our country.
