The Business Support Center, Baldwin County is conducting a free seminar for business owners regarding the State of Alabama’s new E-Verify process. This seminar will be held on Wednesday, April 25th from 11am - noon at Faulkner State’s Gulf Shores Campus. To register, please contact the Business Support Center at 251-968-3118 or email BSC@FauklnerState.edu.
The Business Support Center’s E-verify seminar was created to assist local business owners in understanding the E-verify process. Under direction from Alabama’s new immigration law, all companies who conduct business with the state are required to E-Verify all new employees.
E-Verify is a web-based, free program run by the federal government designed to compare an employee’s current I-9 information with government records to verify citizenship. All new hires in Alabama will have their social security number submitted via internet to the Department of Homeland Security website.
The Business Support Center, created in partnership with the Alabama Gulf Coast and South Baldwin Chambers of Commerce and Faulkner State Community College, is led by Executive Director Rick Miller. Located on Faulkner State’s Gulf Shores’ campus, the Business Support Center is designed as a single source where businesses and individuals may access a broad selection of resources. Business Support Center counselors are available to discuss various business situations and help prepare plans for successful future growth and sustainability.
