Name: Defining the Future of Gulf Shores: Public Discusion on A Strategic Plan
Date: May 6, 2014
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM CDT
Event Description:

The City of Gulf Shores will be hosting a public discussion opportunity where residents and the business community are invited to hear the preliminary plans being developed as part of an ongoing strategic planning initiative.

For nearly two years, Mayor Robert Craft and members of the City Council have been working with local stakeholder groups to develop a strategic plan to focus the growth and design the future of Gulf Shores.

"This plan is about shifting our focus from a 'let it happen' mindset to a 'make it happen' mindset," said Craft. "These strategies will help our community become more sustainable by addressing challenges related to transportation, by creating opportunities to diversify our economy and by protecting our natural environment and enhancing the quality of life we all enjoy."

The public discussion will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 6 p.m. at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center.

"We want to invite our residents and business community to actively participate in this public discussion," Craft said. "We hope to create an opportunity for valuable dialogue and we welcome public insight as we move forward with plans to define the future of Gulf Shores."
