Event Description:
On Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 8:00 am, a 5K Run/Walk will be held at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. The 5K Run/Walk will begin at Battleship Park, go East on the Causeway into Spanish Fort and then loop back to end at Battleship Park. The course is an out and back certified 5K, produced by Little Red Hen Productions.
Registration forms by mail (entries should be postmarked by November 1, 2013) or they can be picked up/dropped off at McCoy Outdoor or Run-N-Tri in Mobile or Running Wild in Fairhope until noon on Thursday, November 7, 2013 or online (www.Active.com) until midnight Thursday, November 7, 2013. Race day registration at the Battleship will be from 7:00 am – 8:00 am. Race begins at 8:00 am. Food, beverages, and awards will be provided after the race.
5K Run/Walk Pre-registered: Adults $15 Children (16 and under) $12
5K Run/Walk Day of Race: Adults $20 Children (16 and under) $15
All pre-registered K-12 students: $5 without tee shirt
The USS ALABAMA is a National Historic Landmark and our state’s official memorial to veterans. Revenue only comes from admission, other self- generated revenue and donations. The Battleship and Park structures require continuous maintenance and preservation. Additional funding is needed to maintain and preserve the Battleship and Park for future generations. All proceeds raised from this event will go towards the preservation of our world famous living history museum and Veterans memorial on Mobile Bay.
